Alex is an actor, writer, producer and director. After spending his youth in western New York, performing at the Lucille Ball Little Theatre of Jamestown, he received a B.F.A. Cum Laude in Acting from the Conservatory of Theatre Arts and Film at S.U.N.Y. Purchase. He also studied Classical Voice and Opera Performance at Pennsylvania State University and the S.U.N.Y. Purchase Conservatory of Music.
His career started in New York City acting in Off Broadway productions and independent films. He performed with regional theatres such as Vermont Stage Company and Galveston Island Musicals. After moving to Los Angeles he became a member of the Open Fist Theatre Company and played opposite Ray Abruzzo in ‘Quake’, written by D. Tucker Smith who co-directed with Anjali Bhimani.
While living in Los Angeles, Alex booked several commercials then decided to take a break from city life to spend time with his wife on Kauai where they welcomed their lovely baby, Loretta into the world. Although Alex enjoyed working on an organic farm and making a living in his new life trimming coconut trees, he started to gravitate towards writing comedy.
He and his family moved back to Los Angeles and he began studying at Upright Citizens Brigade where he met several future comedic actors who would bring his film idea to life. ‘Lock it Up Dog’ is a comedic mockumentary short film written, produced and co-directed by Alex. He also starred as Venus, a libidinous yoga instructor who rises to superstardom, but is confronted by a reporter who suspects more than Venus’s profile keeps rising with him.
Alex was awarded “Best Actor” in the short film category at the 2017 Culver City Film Festival for his work in ‘Lock it Up Dog.’ Alex and his creative partner, Pierre Finn, were awarded “Best Director” in the short film category at the 2017 Marina Del Rey Film Festival and the film also won “Best Comedy” at the Chautauqua International Film Festival.
Alex continues to work commercially. His credits include Honda, Apple, Taltz, Nespresso, Ebay, AT&T, Ford, Comcast, Verizon Fios, Miller Lite and Nissan.
Alex is currently studying at Lesly Kahn and Company and is shooting a dramatic short film titled “Lament” directed by Wade Patterson. He is the proud father of two lovely girls, Loretta and Vivian.
